Acceptable use policy
Text messages reach people's personal phones, so every sender shares the job of keeping SMS trusted. These rules keep delivery fast and reliable for everyone.
Updated 2026-11-07
Send to people who expect your messages
Send to customers, members, patients or users who gave you their number and agreed to hear from you, or who need the message for a service they use. Do not use bought or scraped lists.
Make it easy to opt out
Marketing messages include an opt-out instruction, and you stop sending to anyone who opts out. The console's opt-out line adds it for you.
Identify yourself
Say who you are in the text, usually at the start, so recipients recognise the message.
Content that is not allowed
Phishing, impersonation of banks, authorities or other companies, and messages that ask for passwords or card details.
Malware links, fraud, fake prizes, illegal goods or services, gambling where it is not licensed, and adult content.
Harassment, threats, hate speech and messages that deceive the recipient about who sent them.
Respect local hours and rules
Schedule marketing messages for reasonable local hours and follow the rules of each destination country, including quiet hours and consent records where they apply.
What we do
We may pause campaigns or accounts that break these rules and contact you through a support ticket. Messages sent against this policy are not refunded.
